Very impressed. Long time user of Lightroom 3 , I was at first a bit thrown by the slight changes to the developing tools. But after reading the tutorial, tried it out and was blown away by the improvements to highlight and shadows controls. Also, importantly, they've brought video file management into the fold. And, finally, a drop in price. Probably the best Adobe product in a long, long time and I'm not an Adobe fan boy by any means.

In preliminary testing it seems solid and responsive. The installer will not replace your existing copy of Lightroom so you should feel free to try it out. And, if you are already using a version of Lightroom 3, this one will not affect your catalog, so that you can still use your older copy if you wish. This is on the Mac platform; I can't speak for the Windows version.

They appear to be spending their time working on new features at the expense of solving existing problems. The evidence accumulated over the last few updates suggests their priorities need some serious readjustment.

I don't know why Apple lacks behind with their updates, but it sure makes Aperture a bad contender.
