I will use this article and discussion with Linuxium just in case anyone found my "journey to Linux on PCStick" useful Guess what Zero, zilch, zip, nada, nothing.

It won't give me a reason why it freezes. Since I'm running this on kernel 4. Whould this even make a difference? I don't know what else can I check to get the root cause of the issue. Apart from this misterious freezing it works stable and solid. Few weeks passed and finally I can say - I've found the root cause. Uptime for over days without any issues. Probably some dependencies were causing the system to go mad. So right now I'm on Lubuntu That should be fun Maybe you need to add cstates command to grub.

Thanks for reply. RE: My system boots upto login screen and then a black screen appears which remains unchanged. Your first 'efibootmgr' command showed to 'ubuntu' entries which was probably the cause of the problem. However it seems you have now deleted them and created an entry 'Linux'.

When posting using the command it is better to use 'efibootmgr -v' so that the corresponding entries can also be seen.

We can try and fix this as follows: 1. Start with the iBall switched off. Connect your LiveUSB. Power on the iBall and press F7 or whatever is correct to display the boot menu and boot from the USB. Open a terminal windows and enter: sudo su - if efibootmgr isn't already installed: apt-get install efibootmgr 5. Remove the boot entry created through the earlier attempt to get things working by entering: efibootmgr -b -B 6. Reboot and press F7 or whatever is correct to display the boot menu and boot from the newly created Ubuntu entry.

Repeat from step 1 if it fails. Remove USB and reboot. Thanks for your continuous support. Its amazing, how you reply each and comment upon your posts Sorry to say, nothing worked for me till now.

Current condition is as it was, the system runs when trying Ubuntu, but fails after booting from internal hard disk. It boots up to the login screen and then screen turns off permanently after few seconds.

However after downloading Passmark Performance Test version I then had slightly more success in downloading and installing Passmark Performance Test version 9. Switching to the 5. It should also be pointed out that all of the results can be affected by test run margin of error.

Virtualbox on Windows is much worse than on Ubuntu however the real winner is the performance of running Ubuntu under WSL2 as it is comparable to the native performance. Also of note is that Ubuntu performance is slightly better than Windows performance. I've just released a new version of ' isorespin. However I don't have sufficient space available at the moment to post an example ISO similar to those posted here.
